As we head further into Autumn, things are getting a little spooky in Ipswich town centre – and there are loads of great events to enjoy throughout October!
First up, the Ipswich Book Festival returns for its second chapter from 2–4 October, and it’s a must-visit for book lovers! With 55 events taking place across more than 10 venues, there’s everything from author talks and book signings to writing workshops, spoken word, discussions and family activities.
And if you fancy something a little more mysterious, October is the perfect time to explore some of Ipswich’s history after dark. Christchurch Mansion’s Twilight Tour on 2 October offers the chance to explore the Mansion at dusk, including areas usually closed to the public and, keep an eye out for spooky goings-on around town, including the Halloween Sweet Treat Festival on 29 October – perfect for getting into the Halloween spirit!
There’s plenty more happening throughout the month too, from live music and theatre to family-friendly fun. Look out for Horrible Histories at Ipswich Regent Theatre, the gothic drama Dracula at the New Wolsey Theatre, live music including Seth Lakeman, and plenty of entertainment at the Corn Exchange and Regent Theatre.
You’ll find plenty more suggestions for ‘things to do’ in Ipswich this October below, with something for everyone – whether you’re looking for culture, entertainment, family fun, music or a few spooky surprises!
