The jewel in Ipswich's heritage crown, Christchurch Mansion is a stunning 15th-Century Manor in Christchurch Park, just a short walk from the heart of Ipswich town centre.
Explore the Tudor kitchen, the Georgian saloon and the Victorian wing as you wander the halls and corridors and are transported back to a time of gentry and servants. Admire the fine collection of art from Suffolk artists including the biggest collection of Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable paintings outside of London. Christchurch Mansion is also one of the most haunted buildings in Suffolk; home to the mischievous spirit of a young servant who's life of service has never ended.
Towards the back of the Mansion is the lavender-filled Wolsey Garden and the Wolsey Art Gallery, which hosts regular exhibitions of the Ipswich Museums' expansive archive of art and artefacts; as well has hosting loaned objects from international collections.
It is FREE to visit Christchurch Mansion. For some events and exhibitions you may need to book an entry time; and some events have an entry fee.
The opening hours for Christchurch Mansion are affected by the seasonal opening and closing times of Christchurch Park, in which the Mansion is situated.
