The Woolpack is one of Ipswich’s most well-known pubs with lots of charm and character. The frontage dates from the 18th century, but behind it lies one of Ipswich’s most ancient inns – one of only 24 public houses listed in a town assessment of 1689 though built a century or more earlier.
The Woolpack brings you a wide range of drinks, homemade meals, snacks and pizzas with everything sourced from local suppliers.
Your host Marita works tirelessly to bring you an exciting and friendly Woolpack so that you can enjoy everything this historic English pub can offer.
We pride ourselves in being able to offer many different real ales on tap every week – plus ales and ciders to go with your eat-in or takeaway meals.
The Woolpack offers a great choice of wines and ales or soft drinks, from the specials board or the full menu. All food is home cooked using the freshest local ingredients.
A wide range of home-cooked food is served every day, including the very best Italian pizzas cooked by our very own Italian chef Antonio. From bar snacks to sandwiches, full or light breakfast to tasty mains and children’s menus, there is something for everyone, cooked with care in our own smart kitchen.
Outside seating is available at the front and rear of the pub on days when it is too nice to sit indoors!
Brought to you by Ipswich Central, the Business Improvement District (BID) for the town centre and waterfront thanks to Ipswich Borough Council and Towns Deal funding.
