Ipswich Book Festival Chapter Two: More than Words

After a superb first event last year, the Ipswich Book Festival returns for Chapter Two: More Than Words.

Red banners have appeared throughout the town in preparation for the second chapter of the Ipswich Book Festival.

Starting on Friday, October 2, 55 events will be held across more than 10 venues across Ipswich, with famous faces, workshops, discussions and more taking place until Sunday, October 4.  

This year’s theme, More Than Words, reinforces the belief that books have the power to move us, challenge us and connect us.

Across the weekend, the festival will explore how stories and ideas shape our understanding of power, identity, history and community, and how reading can inspire conversation, creativity and change.

The second outing of the Ipswich Book Festival sees the event bolder and bigger, with very limited tickets remaining ahead of the weekend getting underway.

Among this year’s headline guests are broadcaster Stewart White, actress and author Caroline Quentin, journalist and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter, musician Rusty Egan and comedian, broadcaster and author Robin Ince.

They are joined by Ipswich Book Festival patrons Thomas Taylor, Eva Verde, Frances Quinn, Matson Taylor and Ashley Hickson-Lovence, alongside acclaimed children’s author Brogen Murphy and a diverse line-up of writers, historians, artists, campaigners and performers.
