Exhibition – Witches: Suffolk’s Dark Legacy

Friday 16th October - Sunday 21st February

10am-4.30pm at The Hold

The Suffolk witch trials of 1645-1647 were some of the most brutal and widespread in England. This Suffolk Archives exhibition unearths stories of some of the 150 Suffolk people who were accused of witchcraft, and the looming figure of Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins. See how the image of the witch has evolved through time too. Features exciting loans from the British Library, Tate, and others. Made possible with a grant from the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund and support from Debach Enterprises. Open Monday-Saturday.
