What’s On in Ipswich This March: Events & Activities

Spring is finally arriving in Ipswich, and March is packed with great things to see and do around town. From celebrating Mother’s Day and St Patrick’s Day to the opening of the highly anticipated Constable 250 exhibition at Christchurch Mansion, there are plenty of reasons to get out and explore the town this month.

2nd – 16th March: In Bloom on the Cornhill

An interactive art sculpture is in place on the Cornhill in the heart of Ipswich town centre until 16th March, thanks to Ipswich Central, the business improvement district.

‘In Bloom’ was famously at Battersea Power Station in London in 2025, Canary Wharf during January 2026 and Cambridge in February 2026 before coming to Ipswich.

9th – 20th March: Thrive Ipswich Business Festival 2026

Thrive Business Festival returns on 9 March for two weeks, with loads of events that support and celebrate Ipswich’s business community between Monday 9th March and Friday 20th March. The Festival highlights our fantastic local businesses, potential collaborations, plus provide new opportunities for growth.

Constable 250 exhibition at Christchurch Mansion

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Suffolk born artist John Constable (1776-1837), one of the most important British painters of all time.

To commemorate his life and work, Ipswich will host three landmark exhibitions from 28th March for one year, featuring major loans from across the UK, on display at Christchurch Mansion, thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
