6pm – 7.15pm at Ipswich Town Hall
This year’s entire Christmas campaign, Follow the Stars, has all led up to this, this Lantern Parade.
Hundreds of people will be walking through the town centre with handcrafted paper lanterns, lighting up The Saints, Queen’s Street and the Cornhill.
The parade will start at DanceEast along the Ipswich Waterfront, before heading up St Peter’s Street, St Nicholas Street, Queen’s Street onto Princes Street and outside Ipswich Town Hall.
Joining them will be Eko the Sea Giant, a 13ft puppet operated by world class puppeteers in his final of three performances throughout the day.
Awaiting the parade will be band that will wring out Christmas music, as the Follow the Stars campaign shines its brightest.
Ipswich is one town, one constellation, made of hundreds of stars where; local businesses, events, places, buildings, lanterns and people will all shine brightly.
