One of the most unique places to stay in the east of England, Freston Tower was always intended to be an eye-catcher and is certainly a striking landmark.
Set in sweeping riverside parkland of mature trees overlooking the River Orwell estuary, Freston Tower was built in 1578, possibly to coincide with Queen Elizabeth I’s visit to Ipswich in 1579.
With a single room occupying each of the six storeys, there are no fewer than 26 windows across the building all with wonderful views across the surrounding landscape.
Just 10mins from Ipswich, with local pubs, country inns and Suffolk Food Hall within walking distance.
Freston Tower is managed by The Landmark Trust.
