Macbeth: Theatre in the Forest

Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' performed outdoors at Sutton Hoo

Red Rose Chain's beloved Theatre in the Forest returns with a residency at one of the most stunning and atmospheric sites in the country, Sutton Hoo, with an epic outdoor production of William Shakespeare’s MACBETH.

The new forest site at Sutton Hoo boasts hauntingly beautiful views over the River Deben; the perfect backdrop for a magical evening enjoying Shakespeare as the sun goes down and the stars appear.

MACBETH is Shakespeare's legendary tragic story of the brave Scottish general Macbeth, who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. What follows is a bloody whirlwind of guilt, paranoia, suspicion and murder.
