The Giraffe House's Flapjacks

POSTED ON: 26/03/2020

A simple yet delicious flapjack recipe from Cathy at The Giraffe House, using classic cupboard ingredients.

Short on ingredients, long on flavour! These scrumptious flapjacks are a favourite of Cathy's guests at The Giraffe House; one of Ipswich's quirkiest and most popular Air BnB properties.

Ingredients

175g butter
175g light Muscovado sugar
110g porridge oats
110g fruit and nut muesli

Method

1. Heat the oven to 220C/425F/gas mark 7.

2. Grease a 20 cm square (or similar) cake tin.

3. Melt the butter and sugar in a large saucepan.

4. Take the melted mixture off the heat and stir in oats and muesli until thoroughly coated.

5. Turn out the mixture into the cake tin, pushing it into the corners of the tin and pressing down with the back of a wooden spoon to help bind the ingredients.

6. Bake in the centre of the oven for approximately 15 minutes.

7. Leave the flapjacks to cool in the tin until they have set.

8. Slice into portions.

Enjoy!
