New Park & Ride coming to Ipswich

Local bus operator First Eastern Counties will take the reins and start operating Ipswich’s Park & Ride service from Monday 3rd July. With a number of new innovative features, the service is destined to become a great success for present and new customers using the service.  

Working in partnership with Suffolk County Council, the service will build on the many positives of the current operation, whilst adding new initiatives to encourage more people to use the Park & Ride service, reducing congestion and improving air quality in Ipswich.

A simplified range of tickets will be introduced, designed to meet the varying needs of current and future customers.  These will include new off-peak fares specifically aimed towards, shoppers, leisure travellers and visitors to the town.

A new initiative to help customers plan their journeys and buy tickets in advance is through the ‘mTicket App’ which allows customers to buy a ticket using their mobile phone. With a great range of tickets available, convenience with not having to find change and speedier boarding times, the mTicket App is becoming really popular with customers across other parts of the county.

Discounted tickets, currently available on the ‘Endeavour Card’ and popular with regular commuters, will continue to be valid on the service.  

Buses will run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday between 0700 and 1900, linking the Park & Ride sites at London Road and Martlesham with the town centre and Ipswich Hospital. Buses will carry a vibrant, stylish eye-catching livery that will be easily recognised through a range of easy to use publicity materials and redesigned website.
