A taste of the US comes to Ipswich

All About Ipswich

As like many of you, I’ve been excited to see the developments at the Buttermarket Centre recently and, as the new restaurants have opened their doors, I’ve been aching to get inside and try something new in Ipswich.

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Coast to Coast and I already know I’ll be going back again.

I was greeted at the door by the friendly staff and taken to my table and walked by many families, couples and work colleagues who had also decided to check the place out.

The story of the place is fascinating. I was shown the wallpaper close to the ceiling (make sure you check it out) and was told that the duo that founded the company travelled along the Lincoln Highway in America, picking up menu ideas as they travelled through the states. All these dishes are laid out in front of you in their extensive menu.

I skipped straight to the mains, however, when placing my order, it was suggested I try a pretzel by our lovely waitress. Never one to say no, I order these followed by the Cajun Chicken Melt Wrap.

As I waited a short while for the food to arrive I took a look around and immediately noticed the bar. It’s hard to think of a drink they don’t stock here. The skilled bar staff can also create any cocktail you can think of and do this with such a performance that’s it’s an experience ordering a drink.

My pretzels arrive and I can honestly say I won’t be going straight for a main again. The soft, fluffy dough was perfectly baked and came accompanied with delicious garlic butter. I could have easily eaten more than two.

My main was just as nice with the breaded chicken covered in gooey cheese cuddled together in a soft wrap served with chips and coleslaw.

With no room left for dessert, I enjoyed the rest of my drink in the jovial surrounding before departing in the knowledge that it won’t be long before I’m back again.
